PRELIMINARY TASK 1: Overall Plan/ Plot: the beginning of the scene the screen will appear black and GCH Productions will appear on the screen showing the audience who has made the film. "Close Shave" as the title of the film already gets the audience intrigued by what the film may be about. As the black screen fades away the audience will then get introduced to a wide shot, showing of the character reaching for the door handle, (this is called Mise-En-Scene). We will then use a fade in (transition - editing), this will then link in with the beginning of the film as everything has been introduced with a slow entrance of the titles. As the film starts the music has not been introduced, all the audience can hear at this point is the use of Diagetic music (knocking at the door) coming from the actual film. The following shot that will be introduced to the audience will then be a match on action shot, this will show the audience the character opening the door and walking ...

Thriller brainstorm: Rationale: Chene Harris Brain storm: Asylum Characters that I have chosen are a mentally ill patient and a news reporter. I chose the mentally ill patient as one of the characters because he gives off a crazy unfit sense of feeling and us as the audience get more curious as to what he may get up to in the next few scenes. The news reporter being character two was chosen because a news reporter gives off an alert or a curious sense of feeling as to what she may be publishing, especially since the news reporter is on her own in an asylum... The asylum also gives off that crazy mental sense of feel. During scene one we start off by listening and watching water drop from a pipe onto the ground from quite a distance away, as the camera moves closer the droplets become more visible and they become louder. As we m...

AS Media Homework #2

AS Media Studies Homework

sherlock clip essay AS Media Studies During the beginning of this extract, we see that blackouts are leading into the scene, this shows us where the setting if the scene is and who is there. The blackouts are used to show the audience that there is something dramatic that is going to happen during the scene. Throughout the extract, we get introduced to a variety of different topics such as camera work, sounds, editing, and Mis-en-scene. These simply just show us how the scene from the extract had been played out. Camerawork: The body language (movements) between the characters throughout the extract is very slow, which implies that this scene is going to be dramatic. This also shows us as an audience that it is a serious situation that keeps us as an audience eager to find out what happens next. As the scene progresses we see that there are a lot of long shots that have been used- there are a few medium and over the shoulder shots, reaction shots and wide-angle shots...
