Chené Harris  Audience trends  Class work  Article one: New Zealanders are less likely to watch NZ based Netflix and less likely to subscribe to sky TV, the subgroups viewing on the sky sport channel are significantly lower than that of the overall population of New Zealand  Netflix in New Zealand is the most popular SVOD service among lower socioeconomic New Zealanders, although there is an indication this reaches a smaller audience than among the overall New Zealand population  Article two: With a reach of 67 percent, broadcast TV remains the media channel reaching the most people on a daily basis. However, based on the the trend showing a decline from 83% percent in 2014, this could well be the last time TV retains the spot on the top of the pile.  This trend is only set to continue, with the study confirming that 54 percent of all New Zealander homes now having access to SVOD services Article three: Just like Netflix, Ne...

Brainstorming ideas for PT2

Chené Harris  Brainstorm ideas/plot of PT2 Abduction With having an induction short film this will make it so easy to add in our chase-scene  This film will create suspense and worry for the viewers  Girl abducted - the little girl being abducted will come across quite weak, scared and vulnerable  The man abducting the girl will come across as strong, unafraid, powerful and come across as weird, scary, less vulnerable. Our main plot idea  A large, tall man offers a young, small girl a lollie. He invites her to walk with him to his car where the lollie is. She happily goes along with him. Soon after handing her the lollie which is the object that is given, he then invites her to get into his car. She has a discovery moment, and remembers how no one should ever take a lollie from or get into a car with a stranger, and so she realises that perhaps this man is a danger to be around. This will be symbolised by her dropping the lollie onto the ...

Study Break Week 2 homework.

Chené Harris  ’EastEnders’ Essay  We are instantly aware of all the different ages coming from this extract. We understand that this because we see it in the first shot, this shot is also showing us a mid-wide. This shot clearly shows us a younger man holding a phone with three other individuals standing behind him almost as if they are listening in on the conversation he is having. The ’older’ people standing behind the young man show that they may also have some sort of pitty towards him. This here shows a stereotypical view on the older generation and how they are generally always nice and caring they are towards the younger generation. We then get introduced to the same younger generation as before yet different, this individual is a young pizza delivery guy - his hat is facing backwards giving the audience a representation that he is quite informal and almost shows that he is trying to be someone he may not actually be.  This here is another stereotypical ...

Study Break 1 Homework

Chené Harris  ’homeland’ essay  At the beginning of this clip, the scene starts off with almost a wide long shot portraying to us the city of Baghdad with a voice-over - not knowing which character is talking. This technique can be used to keep the audience interested as to what is going to happen and where the plot is going to start. The use of diegetic sounds has been used at the opening of this clip to give the audience that city feel of it being overcrowded while the diegetic sounds are being used there is also the use of an establishing shot. This clip also contrasts of both wealth/status and race/regional identification. We are instantly shown how the wealth status is relevant to the clip, because of the buildings and people not being properly dressed/ not being looked after properly - as they would be if the city of Baghdad was a wealthy city (like in America when the scene switches to the African American male who is on a call with our American female- you can ...
